Frank L. Krandel

97, of Carrick, was call home to his heavenly Father on May 11, 2017. Born, October 27, 1919 in Glassport, PA. beloved son to Joseph and Barbara Krandel. Loving husband of 68 years to Dolores (Quinn) Krandel who passed in 2016. Devoted and caring father to Frank (Beth), Robert (Joanne), Thomas, James Krandel and Kathleen (Al) Colbert and Linda (Bob) Wharton. Proud grandfather to Robert, Kimberly, Dana, Jennifer, Mariah, Alaina, James, Alex, Robbie, Brielle and Mikaela. Great Grandfather to Danny and Robert Jr. Brother in-law to Patricia Krandel and other surviving in-laws. Frank was preceded in death by his siblings Joseph, Anna Harff, John and William.

Frank was a World War II veteran serving in the 1st US Army from 1942- 1946, Spearhead Division, Battle of the Bulge. In 1952 he went to work at the GM Fisher Body Plant from where he retired after 32 years of service. Franks hobby was “Working”. He loved to build and repair things and was never to busy to share his talents with anyone who needed his help or a creative solution to a problem.

Frank was a generous man, a wonderful husband, and a great father who liked parties, a good joke and going to lunch. The family would like to give a special thanks to all the staff at Oakleaf Personal Care Home and the staff of Bridges Hospice for their care and support.

 Friends will be received from 1-7 pm. Sunday, May 14, 2017 at the Cieslak & Tatko Funeral Home and Cremation Services; 2935 Brownsville Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15227.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 am. Monday, May 15, 2017 at Holy Apostles Parish at St Wendelin Church
