Our beloved mother Amelia fell asleep in the heavenly house of the Lord on February 13, 2023. Born in a small coal mining town, Hutchinson, PA on October 28, 1926. Beloved daughter to the late Stevan and Evdokia Klipa. Loving wife to the late Milan Opacic. Caring mother to Maria (Milan) Stanojevic, Rade (Patti), Danielle, and Luke (Darinka). Baba to Mirce, Melina, Maia, Marko and Maksim. Sister to Peter (Clara), Mary Silianoff. Sister in law to Georgeann Klipa and Richard Raczkiewicz. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and kumovi. Preceded in death by her siblings Josephine (Clifford) Craig, Michael (Margaret) Kubas, Steve, Betty Raczkiewicz. Brother in law Tosho (JoAnn) Opacic and Silian Silianoff.
Amelia was from the greatest generation and lived as such, instilling core values in all of us. A devoted Orthodox Christian who raised her family in the church. She lived her life with purpose and to the fullest with many joyful blessings. Her faith, hope, and love helped her overcome challenges along her journey. Her greatest joy was raising her children, cooking for family, kumovi, friends, and teaching life lessons.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 12-8 pm. at the Cieslak & Tatko Funeral Home and Cremation Services; 2935 Brownsville Rd. Pittsburgh, PA 15227. Pomen service will be held on Wednesday at 7 pm. Additional visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 10 – 11 am at Holy Trinity SO Cathedral followed by the Funeral service at 11am.
