92, of Pittsburgh, passed away on April 24, 2018. Born in Pittsburgh on August 29, 1925 beloved son to the late William and Anna Pitoniak. Loving husband to Patricia Zlokas Pitoniak. Caring father to Rose Schneider, William Pitoniak, Kathleen Groh, Carol (Matt) Eiseman, Andrew (Lori) Pitoniak and Michael (Jill) Pitoniak. Proud grandfather to Yuri, Joshua, Alek, Kelsey, Casey, Corey, Michael, Jacob and Greyson. Great-grandfather to Wolfgang. Also survived by one sister Dolores Muth. Preceded in death by one daughter Bernadette Pitoniak, one grandson Braydon Michael Pitoniak and sister Lillian DeNardo.
Andrew was a US Navy Veteran that proudly served his country in WWII. He earned the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal and Philippines Liberation Medal. He worked and retired from J& L Steel after 30 years. Andrew enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He also loved to cheer on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Friends will be received on Saturday, May 5, 2018, from 2-4 6–8 pm and Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 1-4 pm. at the Cieslak & Tatko Funeral Home and Cremation Services; 2935 Brownsville Rd. Pittsburgh, PA 15227
A Funeral service will be held at 11 am. Monday, May 7, 2018 at Cieslak & Tatko Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Interment will be held at Mt Lebanon Cemetery
