Carol Miller - Kautz Obituary

80, Passed away peacefully on 6/17/2021 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with COPD and Emphysema. Survived by her children, Carol (The Late Richard) Gazzam , William (Sharon) Miller and Patrick (Cindy) Miller. Also survived by her greatest accomplishment and legacy, her grandchildren, Paul Miller, Hannah (Orlando) Neal, Nicholas (Kiersten) Gazzam, Natalee Gazzam, Jacob, Jared, Jenna, Julia Miller and great grandchildren Dominic Miller and Layla King. No matter what, Grammy loved you all more than life itself. She leaves behind her loving sister, Diann Lange and brother Daniel Welding. Loved by Mum were her dear friends, Rose “Sis” Mendyk, Carol Pace, Marlene Spinneweber (Deceased) and Anna “Libby” Kichta (Deceased).

Preceded in death by Alvin Kautz and William Miller. She is further preceded in death by her loving parents, George Welding, Laverne Welding-Doring, William Doring, sister Georgetta Pendzich and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Mom was a devoted wife, loving and coveted mother and grandmother. She gave many years of service to St. Canice Parish. She loved WQED and the accomplishments of St. Jude Hospital. She was a long-time supporter of each and a staple in many South Hills restaurants during her tenure as a banquet server, waitress and bartender.

Mum tried to teach the importance of family, strength, and the belief of who we are as a person not to be measured by your wealth or status. She taught us to treat everyone with respect and dignity and be happy with what you have in life. She told us to be true to ourselves and to be happy and life will be good to us. Those of us who knew and loved Mum were truly blessed to have her in our lives whether you believe it or not. She loved all of you very much. From our family to yours, do not be sad because her body is no longer here, be grateful we were all fortunate to have her in our lives.
