Claudia "Abuelita" Hernandez

96, Peacefully went to be with the Lord on April 29, 2024. Born on January 22, 1928, Beloved Daughter, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great- grandmother, Aunt, Great Aunt and Friend to many. Affectionately known as Gloria/ Abuelita to all. She will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor.  Her passion for typing letters to her many pen pals over the years, her love of search word puzzles, reading, always having her shoes on ready for a car ride anywhere, cheeseburgers, cheesecake and her love for her grandchildren near and far. We are quite sure she will be rejoicing at being reunited with her shopping buddies Betty and Alma buying all the shoes they can in Heaven, even in the wrong sizes because they are such a good deal. She will be greatly missed by her long-term caretakers, and her granddaughter and husband Vicky and Kerry Bauer.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Abuelita’s name to her local Meals on Wheels, as they were integral in helping her family keep her independent in her later years and living in her apartment at St Thomas More Manor for the past 20 years. A special thank you to her long-term Doctor’s Dr Vera Stabil, Dr. Edward Kaliman and Lisa for all the compassionate care and unwavering support.
