Donna Linda Angelo, 83, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. She was born in Clarksville in Green County, PA, on October 12, 1940 to the late Ida (Rota) Stuchell Castana and Nathan Stuchell. She graduated from Jefferson-Morgan High School with the nicest people you’ll ever meet. She moved to Pittsburgh, PA, attended Franco Pittsburgh Beauty Academy and worked many years as a beautician, then a waitress, and later a sales clerk.
Grocery trips always took Donna at least an hour because she met someone she knew in every aisle. She was all about people and she made the best friends. Donna never left the house without make-up and a pair of earrings. She enjoyed yoga, crafts, good nutrition, having dogs for pets, traveling, and weekend getaways to her brother’s farm. She always had a nice salad on the table with dinner. Gardening was also a passion. She never met a weed she could resist pulling or coupon she could resist clipping. She and her cousin were thrift shopping way before it was a trend. Donna enjoyed helping others and always offered compliments freely.
In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years David Angelo, whom she met during dance lessons. They enjoyed dancing a mean jitterbug at many weddings. Also preceding her passing are: her stepfather Carlo Castana, an aunt and uncle Lena (Rota) and John O’Brochta, brother-in-laws Charles (Lorraine) and Nick (Patricia) Angelo, and cousins Elaine (O’Brochta) Brickner, and Bob Rota.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Robert) Baran, grandsons Elliot and Dorian Baran, brother Bob Stuchell, cousin-in-law Thomas W. Brickner, brother-in-law Dennis Angelo, and cousins Dolores, Albert, Leonard, Raymond, and Bill Rota. In addition, 12 nieces and nephews: Madeline (Drew Pownall) Stuchell, Thomas A. (Bobbie) Brickner, Janna Brickner, Nick (Janice) Angelo, Janet (Bill) Copley, DeAnne Hanshaw, Michelle (Scott) Wesche, Leah (Jon) Hawk, DJ (Angie) Angelo, Tony (Shannon) Angelo, Noah Angelo, and Chuck Angelo. Also, many other dear friends, including the LeJeune, Stiefvater, and DeVito families.
Special thank you to the staffs at UPMC Mercy and St. Clair Hospitals, and at Bethel Park Nursing and Rehab Center.
