Frances Kasmarik

Frances Kasmarik, 92, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026.

Frances spent nearly all of her life living in Glassport, PA, graduating from Glassport High School in 1951. After graduation, she became a Bell Telephone Operator and rose through the ranks to become a District Office Supervisor in Greensburg.

A tremendous lover of animals, Frances adored her own dogs over the course of her lifetime and supported and nurtured many pets owned by friends. She supported many non-profit children’s and veterans charities over the years and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ.

Frances loved sports, especially the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, she enjoyed the music of Frank Sinatra, the passing on of her baking skills to the next generation and the company of many friends and family over her lifetime.  She was radiant and resilient and always remembered birthdays and thanked the many kind people she met along her journey.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen Kasmarik, sister Margaret Bonadio, and brothers John, Edward, and infant brother Billy, and niece Nancy Smith. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Cynthia Hartigan and her goddaughter Susan Brozek Scott.

One month shy of her 93rd birthday, Frances was laid to rest at Round Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth, in a private ceremony during a brief break in a major snowstorm, with Chaplain Sam Blair of Bridges Hospice officiating. Funeral services were handled by Cieslak and Tatko Funeral Home and Cremation Services, in a chapel onsite.

The family would like to thank staff and residents of Concordia of Wexford for their care and exceptional kindness in welcoming Frances to their community to live out her final years.
